Can the United States threaten the UK with destroying its economy to force it into anything, just like what happened in the Suez Crisis?

Bring it on.

In the present situation the USA has no leverage on the UK. We owe nothing to them. We have supported the USA and been betrayed at every turn. The UK is totally sovereign thanks to us leaving the EU.

You want to play silly buggers so be it. We don't owe anything to the USA. We buy very little from the USA so any tariffs will only hurt American citizens.

Why aren't U.S. prisons more like Marine Corps boot camp, were every second of the day there are mandatory activities so that at night everyone is so tired they go to sleep until wakeup at 5:30 am? Would this make prisons safer for all?

Britain had been bombed to hell during the war as was in the process of rebuilding.

Eisenhower threatened to call in war loans if the British and France didnt withdraw. He wanted to destroy the British Empire and the influence of France and Britain in the Middle East. This notwithstanding the British was already disassembling the Empire. Eisenhower bought the USA all the conflict in the Middle East from then to now.

In the Suez crisis Britain and France had funded the building of the canal and had not recovered its outlay when Egypt seized it.
